I was asked whether I’d like to take part in a weekly quiz night at Ojo Rojo Bournemouth recently with the Bournemouth Bloggers.
Now Mexican food is up there with some of my favourite dishes, and I LOVE a quiz so much. So it was a hell to the yeah from me in my reply email.
Ojo Rojo is Bourrnemouth’s latest Mexican-inspired restaurant. I loved the relaxed and rustic style of the place. It had such a chilled atmosphere with a bar and a few tables downstairs, as well as more seating upstairs.
So every Wednesday at Ojo Rojo, there’s the famous ‘Rojo Quiz’. As their website states:
Come join us for the Ojo Rojo quiz hosted by Punch Entertaiment!
The quiz will consist of several rounds of general knowledge and fun games so you do not have to be a complete geek to enter.
£1 each to enter and this can be won at the end of the evening. If no one wins the entrance money pot then it will roll over and be added to the following week, giving the possibility of a large pool of money to accumulate and be won by one lucky team.
First prize will be a £50 Ojo Rojo voucher and second price will change each week.
You can book a table for the quiz by calling 01202 555282.
There will be a 6 for 5 beer promotion on the evening as well as £5 margaritas after 10pm!
Before the quiz night at Ojo Rojo Bournemouth started we were treated to a selection of nachos, freshly baked bread, and tortilla chips with dips. Everything was so fresh and packed full of flavour I couldn’t fault it.
We also had a good look through the cocktail menu. I went for a beautiful concoction called the Bartender’s Ketchup which was dangerously easy to drink, and even had edible flowers…Say What?
Quiz night at Ojo Rojo Bournemouth
So onto the actual quiz then. I think there was at least ten teams on the night, and with us Bournemouth Bloggers making up a team of eight people, we were confident we’d do well…
(I wish I could say that was what actually happened but sadly no, we didn’t do great – in fact we came a bit of a disappointing fifth).
But honestly, nobody minded.
We had such a good night. We pretty much laughed our way through every single question let alone each round, and just had so much fun.
I won’t spoil it by giving exact details of all the rounds, but there’s a good mix of music, film and general knowledge, along with a round which requires a LOT of creativity.
I’d one hundred per cent recommend doing the quiz night at Ojo Rojo Bournemouth, and would like to thank the team for their lovely hospitality.
