If there’s one thing I’ve gained so far from blogging (apart from a growing addiction to make up, social media, rose gold and marble), it’s an appreciation for technology. Without it, we simply couldn’t blog, and there are a ton of products out there which only serve to help make blogging that little bit easier. With that in mind, I’ve put together a tech wish list of five items which I pretty much lust over on a frequent basis. *Just waiting for that little lotto win…..*
Photos play a pretty substantial role in most blogs. I know I’ve definitely tried to up my photography game with recent images on Instagram and the blog. I love looking at nicely styled pictures, and so I’m *trying* to make mine look good too. At the moment, the only piece of kit I’m using for my images is my humble iphone 6 along with a couple of editing apps. It’s not exactly top-notch stuff….
If had the money to spare though, then there’s no question which camera I’d opt for. This blogger’s favourite and all-round photo-capturing beauty:
The Canon 70D shoots in 20.2 megapixels, able to record video at 7fps, and features an advanced 19 cross-type AF system. There’s all the usual features too such as built in wi-fi and remote control, but it’s the quality and clarity which this camera shoots in which I’m obsessed with. I’ve been thinking about starting a YouTube channel for a while now as well, and this is exactly the sort of camera I would love to film with. It’s just bloody amazing. The downside is that it still costs near to £1000 for the body and a telephoto lens, but there are plenty of good deals to be found on places like ebay and Amazon. That’s where I’ll keep on looking until I hopefully find a good bargain..
I know I may be a little biased when I say this given the fact I love my iPhone and in turn, Apple as a brand, but out of all the laptops on the market, the only ones which really appeal to me are the Macbooks. I love their simplistic design and beautiful retina displays, and the new range of books which have been brought out almost rival the Air in thickness and lightness of weight and, but haven’t compromised on performance. And it comes in a rose-gold and gold versions. It’s a win-win.
Whether it’s watching You Tube or reality TV, (I love both in equal measure), or the latest release on Netflix, it goes without saying that a quality TV is another piece of ‘tech’ we all need in our lives to one degree or another. I don’t watch as much TV as I used to, and when I do it’s mostly either CBeebies or Peppa Pig (the joys of having small children), but if I could kick back and enjoy something from Sky Cinema, it would be on this gorgeous beast of a TV, the Ultra HD Panasonic TV:
It’s 65 inches of 4k pro ultra HD professional cinema display, complete with the usual smart TV capabilities, firefox web browser and touch pad TV remote. What sets this apart from its competitors though, is the fact that it has been tuned by filmmakers and has passed the rigorous 400 THX lab tests within 30 categories, which were originally founded by George Lucas. What this means essentially, is that you’re experiencing a totally uncompromised viewing experience thanks to a Studio Master HCX+ processor. It all sounds very wordy, but at the end of the day I think the most important thing to remember is that this TV’s quality is like no other. and I would love one! (Although we’d need a bigger lounge to fit the thing in)…
Every blogger’s favourite pair of headphones, and I’m no exception, (cliche again), it feels like the iconic and beautiful white and gold Frends headpiece has been around for forever, but it’s probably only because I’ve seen so many photos of them snapped on Instagram and other various social media. If it’s for editing a video or listening to your favourite album, everyone loves their own space sometimes, and headphones like this ensure you can stylishly distance yourself and get lost in the music, (or another You Tube tutorial).
Much as I love my iPhone I do have one constant niggle, and anyone who owns the 6 will be able to vouch for this….the battery life is absolutely crap. I know that a big part of that is to do with the fact that I’m checking various social media and watching a good deal of You Tube which probably drains the juice quite a bit, but I go from a full charge in the morning to sixty odd percent by lunchtime sometimes. Powerbanks are very clever little devices; basically portable chargers which need charging up themselves first, but then they are good to take with you on the go if you know you’ll be out for the day and will be needing your phone. This cute little one from ban.do is compatible with almost every product released from Apple, along with Android phones, and it even has two usb outlets, so your friend can nick a charge off you too.
So that’s it for my little round of tech wish-list items. I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and if you already own any of these and want to share your thoughts on them then feel free to drop me a comment! Be back soon.
