Winter beauty and Christmas Gifts at Boots

Ah, the most wonderful time of the year…

Now that Halloween’s over and November is here I think it’s safe to say we’ve reached the point of acceptability for excitement/panic/stress (or all three) about Christmas.

I’m a combination of them all I think…

And I’ll also put it out here from the off-set and say that I’m not a good Christmas shopper.

I wish I was, but I’m not.

I tend to panic buy, don’t necessarily get the right gifts, and I always, without fail, leave my shopping to the last minute.

Every year I promise myself I won’t do it.

And every year I break my promise and do it all over again.

So I must admit, when an email popped through my inbox recently asking if I’d like to visit Boots with a complimentary gift card to check out their Christmas concession ranges I didn’t really need much time to reply with HELLO YES PLEASE

Or something along those lines.

Boots has been my go-to store for make up, skin, hair and body care and everything else in between for donkey’s years.

I love the fact that you can literally get everything under one roof, from foundation to fragrance, eyeliners to epilators. And over the years the amount of stock and brands has grown from strength to strength.

Gone are the days, for me at least, when I’d have to visit a department store for premium brands. I mean Boots now stock Chanel, Dior and all the high-end houses.

Not that I can afford to actually buy any of their products most of the time….But if I could then it’s nice to know they’re there.

I visited the Boots store at Ocean Retail Park in Portsmouth and after a lovely long browse, here’s what I picked up.

Ted Baker Little Bloom Gift Set

Ted Baker is such a lovely brand and I adore their gift sets for Christmas. They always come out with such beautiful packaging and high quality products.

This set contains body wash, bubble bath, body spray and body soufflé (all 50ml) and is priced at £12.00 which I think is pretty good value for money given the presentation and performance of the products.

Joules Christmas Cracker Gift Set

Is this not the perfect gift set? I love it when brands put together their own little collection of Christmas crackers and Joules is no exception.

There are four crackers and each one contains a special treat; bath fizzer, hand cream (50ml), blackberry flavoured lip balm and x2 mini soaps, all presented in a gorgeous box with such a pretty print.

Ted Baker ‘Leicester’ Set

Whether it’s my husband, dad or brother, I’ve always found a set from Ted Baker they like and I’ve been really impressed once again by the premium packaging and variety of sets available for Christmas.

I went with this one, the ‘Leicester’, which contains a 200 ml hair and body wash and 150ml body spray, and I love the theme of the set; understated yet stylish.

Aussie Mega Shampoo and Miracle Moist Conditioner

Aussie have been a firm fave of mine for a long time now. Their 3 minute miracle conditioner was a game-changer for me and I love their other ranges. I picked up the Mega Shampoo and Moist conditioner (both on offer – got to love a bargain), and have been using them together for the past week with lovely results. Hair has felt softer and stronger with more volume; believe me for the amount of abuse in conflict upon my hair with heat damage and bleach that’s quite a feat!

Co Lab Dry Shampoo Original

Can anyone imagine a time before dry shampoo? No I can’t either to be honest. It’s an absolutely god send. I’ve heard so many good things about the Co Lab range and couldn’t resist picking this up. Smells lush, stops the grease, adds volume and leaves no white bits. All I could ever want from a dry shampoo.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour

I love a matte lip and after buying a bright red shade from this Rimmel range last year and falling in love with it, I had to pick up another one.

This one, called ‘Rosetto Liquido’ is a beautiful rose pink; perfect for this time of year and is so pigmented. Lasts a good length of time and is non-drying too. Love it.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Polish

I can’t sing the praises of Barry M enough. When it comes to affordable, quality nail polishes with the most diverse range of shades you really can’t go wrong with Barry M.

This shade, Rhubarb, is probably my most favourite autumnal colour yet; a deep, rich burgundy berry hue which is super opaque (I often get away with only applying one coat), and has the most gorgeous shine. For less then four pounds, this is a beautiful little bargain.

Garnier Ultra Lift Tissue Mask

When Garnier brought out their sheet masks I became a little obsessed. Sure you may look a little sinister for fifteen minutes but wow is it worth it.

This one promises to smooth, firm and promote radiance to the skin thanks to grape seed extract and hyaluronic acid. It felt so soothing on the face and left my skin feeling ridiculously peachy and nourished. Would highly recommend. Just don’t catch sight of your reflection in a dark bathroom mirror while you’re wearing it – Trust me you will be scared!

So that’s it for my little Boots haul.

I love it when you have a successful shopping trip and this one was no exception. If you live in or around Portsmouth then go check out the Boots store at Ocean Retail park.

The staff are super friendly and helpful and it’s well-stocked with plenty of top brands. I’ll definitely be paying another visit next time I’m back in Pompey.

Hope you enjoyed this post! I’ll be back with a new one very soon.
