To be honest, my interest with beauty boxes has decreased quite a lot over the past year. I definitely don’t buy as many as I used to. But then Harper’s Bazaar happened to release their Spring/Summer collection box at the beginning of April, and brought out what I think is quite possible the BEST beauty box I’ve come across in terms of content and value for money.
What impressed me from the offset was the size of the products. With a lot of beauty boxes there are mostly sample or travel sizes, with the odd one or two full size in there.
But with this beauty box, almost half of the products are full size, and the rest are very generous sample amounts.
There are eleven items in total. Let me do a quick rundown of them all and I’ll do a summary/first impressions at the end.
Alpha H Liquid Gold (50ml)
Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser with muslin cloth (30ml)
Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair (Full size)
Benefit They’re Real Mascara (Full size)
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (Full size)
Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Boosting Mask (15ml)
MAC Prep and Prime Fix + (Full size)
Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Day Cream (15ml)
Caudalie Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Essence (50ml)
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (Full size)
There is also a gift card in the box which entitles you a complimentary Shavata brow shape.
Out of everything in the box this is the only disappointment as my nearest Shavata studio is in London, so a good two hour train trip and not really worth it just for the sake of a brow shape.
But I’ve heard so many good things about Shavata brows that I’m going to hold onto the card in the hope that I do get to have a London trip soon for something or other, and I could tie it in with a visit to their salon.
About the rest of the contents though, I’m quite blown away by the brands.
Full size products from the likes of Benefit, Mac, Laura Mercier and Dermalogica is just crazy. And I’m obsessed with Alpha H Liquid Gold so was over the moon to see that included.
I think in terms of value for money and branded products, this is without doubt the best beauty box I’ve come across so far.
It’s £50.00 including p&p which does seem more than your usual beauty box, but when you think that the contents comes to a total of £224.00, it almost makes the word bargain seem a little underrated.
If you like your high-end make up and premium skin and hair-care, then this is absolutely the one for you. Click here to find out more.
I was very kindly sent this box to review, but I’d already set my sights on buying it myself as soon as I saw it become available.
(This was a good few days before I got the email asking if I would like to be involved in a blog review so I like to think of it as fate, or something like it).
Really hope you enjoyed the post, and I’ll be back with a new one very soon!
