I’ve been on Feel Unique’s site before and bought a few things but had no idea they even did beauty boxes. Soon as I saw this one though I knew I had to get my hands on it as I’ve been after some new skincare bits for a while. And it was such a bargain. (That’s essentially my way of justifying buying another beauty box). It kind of works..
I’ve been using the products for almost a month now so along with going through the contents of the box, I thought I could also do a little first impression/mini review on each of the items.
The Skincare Superstars box is as you might imagine from the title, a collection of six popular and hard-working skin care products, over half of them full-sized too, and even the samples are very generous amounts.
The REN Wake Wonderful Night Time Facial (40ml) is a bit of a strange product, and if I’m being totally honest, I still haven’t made up my mind whether I like it or not.
It’s a targeted treatment rather than a normal moisturiser, and is designed to be put onto your face after your serum/oil has been applied, but before your moisturiser. It is supposed to reveal cleaner and fresher looking skin, but I haven’t really seen any visible difference as yet…
I’m not overly keen on the smell (very distinctive and tangy sort of orange scent), and it feels tingly bordering on stinging once applied to the skin….but despite that I’m going to keep going with it as I have heard so many good things about REN and I don’t want to give up on the brand before I’ve even tried anything else from them.
The in transit Camera Close Up from this works (15ml) is something which I’ve been really enjoying using in the mornings after cleansing.
A mask, moisturiser and primer all in one, in transit has a light consistency and a small amount goes a very long way. It isn’t greasy at all, although it leaves the skin feeling super soft and is basically a lovely product to put on prior to your make up. Am liking this a lot.
I’ve used a few products from La Roche Posay before and have liked them all so I had relatively high hopes for their own version of the Micellar Water, and I’m very happy to say it didn’t disappoint.
There isn’t too much to say about Micellar Water’s in general, but this one is very nice, gentle and calming on the skin, and does an effective job at thoroughly removing all traces of make up. It was only a 50ml bottle so I did go through it quite quickly, but I would definitely repurchase this one again.
The balance me Radiance Face Oil is housed in a glass bottle with a little pipette. The back of the bottle recommends applying two drops to cleansed skin and massaging in thoroughly before applying moisturiser, both morning and evening.
What I love about the balance me brand is that they use 100% naturally derived ingredients (which basically means no artificial nasties found in a lot of skin care), and this oil in particular is suitable for all skin types. It is a very light oil which sinks in easily and leaves skin feeling plump and moisturised. The 30ml will last ages as a little goes a very long way here.
Next up is the Truth Sugar Glow Polishing Scrub from Ole Henriksen. (Sorry I forgot to take an individual shot of this, but it’s the little pot with the orange label on). This is essentially an exfoliator for the face and has a gorgeous scent with abrasive beads. It states on the pot to leave on the skin for five to ten minutes before rubbing into the face, but I pretty much get cracking with it as soon as I put it on. It’s a nice product. Probably not the best facial exfoliator I’ve ever used, but certainly not the worst.
I’ve saved the best till last here, and I’m so happy to have discovered this particular product. I’ve heard so many good things about them, and this range specifically.
The Aqualia Thermal Night Gel from Vichy is honestly one of the loveliest products I’ve ever used. If you have dry skin, this is without doubt going to be your new best friend and even for oiler skin-types such as myself, this moisturiser works a treat. It feels so cooling on the skin, and the gel-consistency just melts in with minimal application. I can’t wait to get this again and try the serum from this range too. I’ve found a new brand fave!
So that’s it for my little round of Feel Unique’s Skincare Superstars beauty box. I hope you enjoyed reading this round-up, and I’ll be back with a new review very soon.
The box’s worth is actually £87.00 but costs just £30.00 and is available to buy from Feel Unique.
