Review of Latest in Beauty Girls Night Out Beauty Box

A little bit like blogging, I was quite late to the party with beauty boxes. I knew of the more popular ones like Birchbox and Glossybox, but that was about it really, and for one reason or another they never seemed to tempt me enough to get a subscription. But then a while ago I discovered a beauty box which pretty much has made me turn into their number one fan because the value for money and range of products you get is INSANE.

I feel like I’m about to let you all into this Masonic secret of a beauty box and I’m so excited to share with you what you’re able to get. For anyone who already knows about Latest In Beauty then I apologise in advance because this post is going to be all about them. But for those who don’t know about LIB as I’ll call them now to make life and typing a little easier, let me tell you, they are well worth checking out.

I’d been a member of sorts with LIB for ages, but this is going back to the days when you could select up to five miniature little products and get them for the price of a text plus an additional charge of some sort. That was a long time ago, and when I say long, I mean as in years ago.

Come to think if it, I’m not as late to the party as I first thought then…In fact, I was ahead of the game girlfriend *clicks thumb and finger in a Z fashion all sassy-like* Seriously though, Latest In Beauty are one of those companies which you just thank god you’ve discovered because for me a least, I think that the price and quality/quantity of products is super generous.

Before I carry on I think I should just point out here that I’m in no way sponsored for this post. I bought this beauty box with my own money and just feel that the company deserve a shout out because I’ve been so impressed with them. So please don’t think I’m biased in any way. I would always be a hundred per cent honest, as all bloggers should, (although not everyone lives by the rule book I don’t think…), when I ever have any sponsored content.

So then. Onto the fun stuff. Latest In Beauty always have a few different ‘themed’ boxes on the go, along with the option to pick and mix certain items for a bespoke box tailored to what you want. They often work with Glamour magazine to produce a beauty editor’s edit of Spring, Summer or Winter beauty and skincare products which are always lovely. The particular box which caught my eye on the website though, was called the ‘Girl’s Night Out’ box, and as you can imagine, contains a fair few pampering and glam treats.

It’s basically a smaller-sized shoe box which arrives, made of nice and sturdy black cardboard and with the logo printed on the front. Opening the box reveals black tissue paper which is sealed shut by a little silver sticker.

The attention to detail is really nice, and I love the little card which is laying on top of the goodies once the tissue paper is opened.

A fab quote if ever I saw one too…

I’m not going to do an individual review of every single item in the box as I’d not only be writing for forever, but to be honest I haven’t even got round to trying all of the products yet anyway. But what I’ll do instead is basically run through each of the items in the box so that you can get a flavour of what it’s all about. So in no particular order, the products include in the box are:

  • Mini L’Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray
  • Rimmel Rita Ora Nail Polish in ‘Glastonberry’ (full size)
  • 0.8 ml Narcisco Rodriguez Eau de Toilette
  • Mini Fudge Urban Colour Spray In Hair Colour in ‘Coral Crush’
  • Model Co. Lip and Cheek Tint (full size)
  • Balmi Super Cube Lip Balm in ‘Roseberry’
  • Mini Lord & Berry Black Kohl Eyeliner
  • Model Co. Lipgloss (full size)
  • Mini He-Shi Express Liquid Tan
  • Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in ‘Gladiolus’ (full size)
  • Styl London Instant Gel Nail Wraps (full set)
  • Pack of five Kitsh hair ties
  • Styl London Gold Temporary Tattoos
  • Collection Lengthening Mascara (full size)
  • Perfection Fashion Tape (one pack of 20 tapes)

Admittedly there are some products in here which I probably wouldn’t go and buy myself such as the temporary tattoos, fashion tape and hair colour, but despite that, there is a ton of products in here which I have either bought in the past and loved, or are totally new to me and I love them already.

I’ve always been a fan of L’Oreal Elnett for example, so that was a nice and welcome little addition to the box, and as far as red lipsticks go which are fast becoming my new obsession, I haven’t tried anything from Revlon before but this particular shade called Gladiolus from their Ultra HD range is absolutely beautiful.

I’m a big fan of Rimmel nail polishes anyway and much like red lipsticks, I do also have a bit of a thing for red nail varnish, so this particular shade called Glastonberry looks gorgeous and I think I’ll be getting a lot of use out of that for fingers and toes over the Summer months.

The hair ties are probably the prettiest hair ties I’ve ever seen and I doubt I’ll ever use them. They’ll most likely stay as they are in their equally pretty packaging. The photo really doesn’t do them justice though honestly as they are so damn cute.

I think the same could be said for this little cube of rose-gold loveliness, which is one of the sweetest lip balms I’ve ever seen. Although I won’t let this one sit in it’s packaging; I’ll definitely be using it and will report back with a little review if I like it. Balmi are one of those cult brands which I’ve never gotten around to trying, so I’ll be interested to see what it’s like.

The mascara isn’t the best in the world, I’ve had a quick test of that and it’s nothing exciting to report. Same goes for the eyeliner and lipgloss. But the lip cheek tint is very nice, and the perfume smells gorgeous; very fresh and florally (I really don’t think that’s even a word but you get my drift hopefully).

So that’s it for my little review of the Latest In Beauty Girls Night Out box. It costs just £20.00 plus £3.95 p&p which I think is an absolute bargain when you add up the combined cost of the box’s contents. If you’re looking to treat yourself or a friend or family member then I think you can’t really go wrong with something like this as there’s something for everyone. I don’t know how long they have this box in stock but it’s still available at the time of this post being published at Latest In Beauty.

I’m going to put all the products in the box through their paces and report back with what impressed me, and what wasn’t so great, so keep your eyes peeled for that, and I’ll be back with a new review very soon! Bye guys x
