October Favourites

October Favourites

How is it the end of October already?! Seems like Summer has barely passed and we’ve already all gone mad for Pumpkin Spiced Latte’s, Autumnal walks and justifiable Christmas shopping. This is definitely my favourite season, no doubt about it, and what with it being the end of the month, I thought it was only right to put together an October Favourites post of all the things I’ve been loving over the past few weeks.

October Favourites by ellemma

Ah Blogosphere magazine. I love this publication SO. MUCH. I remember when I started out blogging over a year ago, I used to think it would be great if there was some sort of magazine dedicated to bloggers. I don’t know exactly when it was that Blogosphere launched (be funny if it had been around the same time), but all I know is that I look forward to its release so much, and think that a good deal of time and hard work goes into each article, feature and interview.

Not only that but it always looks bloody gorgeous, and makes a great prop/background for any of those arty jewellery pics should the mood take you. Issue 10 features the beautiful Victoria of In the Frow, along with heaps of other featured bloggers and useful tips and advice. I can’t wait for the next issue already, and think it’s a very worthy addition to my October Favourites. It costs £5.00 and available from WH Smith and here.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask

Now I won’t bang on about this mask too much, as I wrote a whole post about it recently singing its praises. You can read that here if you want to know more. But all I’ll say is that I’ve become a little obsessed with these weird and soggy sheet masks. Yes, they make you look like some kind of weird minimal clown for fifteen minutes, but the end result is so worth it. Intense hydration delivered that’s much needed especially now we’re into winter. These masks are in my October favourites, and I have a feeling they’ll be in my November favourites too unless something better comes along. The masks are still on offer in Superdrug for just 99p each.

TK Maxx Notebooks

TK Maxx are one of my all-time favourite stores when it comes to stationery, and I love the one-off finds you can pick up for such bargain prices. I own more notebooks than I care to admit to be honest, but I’m always on the look out for more, and can’t resist anything cute, quirky and gold-printed. The ‘Love What You Do’ memo block pad and ‘Diamonds’ 2017 diary cost about £3.99 each.

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Polish in ‘Kiss Me Quick’

I’ve loved Barry M polishes for a long time now, and think that in terms of value for money and shade varieties, they are arguably the best nail polish brand out there on high street. The Gelly formulations used to be one of my summer favourites, but I recently discovered the Speedy range and am hooked. I’ve only tried the one colour, (‘Kiss me Quick’), which is the perfect pastel/baby pink, but I’ve been really impressed by the formula and high-shine finish. They last a decent amount of time too. They’re only £2.99 each.

Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara

This is the first product I’ve tried from Tarte. I’ve heard so many good things about the brand, and was pretty excited to see this item in my October Tili Box. It’s a highly-pigmented black with a good sized rubber brush and so far so good, I like it a lot. It doesn’t tend to clump any lashes and keeps them looking long with only a few coats which is great. It costs £18.00 though which to be totally honest…I don’t know if I’d spend that much on again in the future, but it’s a good all-rounder and definitely worth it if you spend a little more on your mascaras.

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream

I’m not going to talk about these too much in this post, as I think they deserve a proper review, but I will say that these are super pigmented, with a good choice of colours and are proper, ultra matte. The lasting power is great and the only negative I think I can find with them is that they can be a little too drying on the lips if more than one coat is applied.

But apart from that, Sleek’s Matte Me Lip Cream’s are definitely worth the hype, and ‘Birthday Suit’ in particular is an absolutely stunning nude. I bought a gift-set from Boots which is £5.00 for four of their best-selling shades. More about these very soon…

Zoella Hungry Hands

My first ever product from Zoella Beauty is this absolute gem from her latest Christmas range. It’s in really cute nordic-themed/craft packaging, and comes in a generous 90ml tube which should last a good amount of time. The cream smells of ginger and vanilla which is sweet but isn’t too overpowering, and it sinks into the hands quickly leaving them lovely and soft.

I’m excited to try out more from this collection, and the products from the new Lifestyle range look so gorgeous too. As always, Zoella always seems to hit the nail on the head with her products, and this hand cream is a very welcome addition to my October Favourites.

I hope you enjoyed this post and found the reviews useful. I’ll be back with an in-depth post on the Sleek Matte Me Lip Creams soon!
