I think it’s fair to say that of all the beauty boxes out there (and there are a lot), the Latest in Beauty box has often been the one that I have gone back to time and time again. In fact I was a member of this company way back when you used to text to pay for your goodies, and could choose up to five miniatures….that was a pretty long time ago. Suffice to say then that I’m a fan, and have blogged about their boxes in several of my posts. (Check out a couple of them here and here).
Since the texting days, Latest in Beauty have grown and evolved to become one of the most successful and popular beauty boxes on the market, and I’m so thrilled and proud to be able to say that I have been given the title of their Blogger of the Month! You can check out the interview over on their very own blog page if you fancy reading my thoughts on all things beauty and blog related.
Anyways, to celebrate the fact that I’ve been made Blogger of the Month, I thought it only appropriate to make this post a review all about the Latest in Beauty box, as I was kindly gifted one from the team.
The selection, like with every other month, is really impressive. There’s a stack of products to choose from and I feel lucky to have opted for the ‘Beauty Guru’ box which allows you to pick nine products for £18.00.
First up is a new range from everyone’s favourite dry shampoo brand, Batiste. This is called the Frizz Tamer and essentially does what it says on the tin; reduces frizz for a smooth finish.
Next is a cult classic which I’ve bought and loved before but have yet to repurchase; Lait Creme Concentrate from Embryolisse is one of those much loved and highly-used hidden gems amongst actresses, models and make-up artists. It’s a beautifully textured moisturiser that sinks into the skin so quickly, and provides tons of hydration. I love this A LOT.
You can’t beat a gorgeously-scented and nourishing hand cream in my opinion. I’ve got a worrying number of hand creams come to think of it….they just seem to accumulate quicker than I get through them.
The one that I opted for with the Latest in Beauty box is from a company called Roger & Gallet and the Lait Sorbet is a fusion of pomegranate oil and aloe vera. It’s a lovely light texture, and it smells AMAZING.
An addition to this month’s box which I couldn’t help but add as soon as I saw it is The Mindfulness Colouring Diary. Colouring as a form of therapy/mindfulness has taken off massively over the past year or so, with magazines and books dedicated to the art of colouring.
I’ve tried colouring before and actually do find it pretty relaxing when I’ve got some quiet time to sit down and focus. I love the fact that Emma Farrarons has released a diary version, as each page is filled with cute little blank illustrations which are crying out for some colour. I’m really looking forward to using this next year.
The Burts Bees Matte Lip Crayon‘s are, in my humble opinion, some of the best and most underrated matte lipsticks on the high street. I’ve bought two in the past, one coral pink and one dark red, and both have been super moisturising, long lasting and nicely pigmented.
The shade I selected for the Latest in Beauty box is called Sedona Sands, and I would describe it as being the perfect peachy pink. I usually avoid pink-toned lip products of any kind because I just don’t think they suit me well at all, but this is a really flattering shade and is perfect for day-wear or a natural evening-look.
Coral nails are one of the best ways to refresh your make up and add a hint of va va voom to Summer no?
Cheeky’s ‘Chat Me Up’ polish in ‘Tongue and Cheek’ is one of the prettiest and brightest coral pinks and I’ve been obsessed with wearing this lately. It’s a lovely high-gloss finish and lasts a decent amount of time too.
Probably my favourite discovery in the box this month has been the Evolve Beauty Daily Renew Face Cream. I like the fact that it has a combination of natural peptides, hyaluronic acid and argan – three skin-loving ingredients, and it’s made my evening moisturise much more tolerable as it’s so nice to use.
It sinks in really quickly, is organic and 99% natural, and I LOVE the vanilla and coconut scent. Dreamy.
Another item I opted for is the Neom Daily Energy Boosting Burst Capsule.
Now as you can see I have yet to actually use this product as I wanted to wait till I’m feeling a little stressed or anxious in order to test its calming techniques. I’m very interested to find out more about that the capsule though, so watch this space…
Last but by no means least, in the cutest packaging of their own ever, Finery have three beautiful little bangles in yellow gold, rose gold, and silver plating.
They are great for stacking or just wearing on their own. (I’ve been wearing the rose gold one with a little bracelet I already have – and I love it to bits!)
So that’s it for my Latest in Beauty box haul and review – I hope you’ve enjoyed reading it and let me know your thoughts on any of the items that you’ve used!
