Last week I went along to a VIP beauty event at The Body Shop store in town with the Bournemouth Bloggers and had such a lovely evening.
Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of prosecco (never a bad thing), and were talked through what to expect over the next couple of hours by the store manager.
Several members of staff were on hand to provide make up tutorials, beauty consultations and skincare advice about the products, and following the talk we were left to wander the store as we pleased.
After trying out a couple of the body scrubs and testing them on my hands (I tried a South African one which smelt amazing), I made a bee-line for the make up and asked about their matte liquid lipsticks which I’d heard so many good things about.
The store assistant asked what shade I’d like to try, and of course I went for red. Cause you can never have too many red lipsticks right?
This particular shade, Sydney Amaryllis, is a beautiful coral red, and it felt so light once applied but super pigmented and long-lasting.
That lipstick went straight into my basket let me tell you now. I love it to bits and highly recommend it.
I had a good chat with one of the store assistants about The Body Shop’s various skincare ranges. The brand has really invested in their products over the past few years, particular their more ‘luxe’ lines, and it’s clear to see from the quality of the ingredients that they are actually still very good value for money compared to their other high street competitors.
I was interested to see that they’ve now brought out a range of body ‘yogurts’ alongside their bestselling body butters, and at a much more affordable price point too which is always a bonus.
The star of the night however, without exception, was the Vanilla Pumpkin range.
Oh my word. It’s basically autumn captured in a scent. Sweet thanks to the vanilla but with a kind of crisp bitterness with the pumpkin. It’s just perfect and obviously I couldn’t leave the store without getting a hand cream from the range.
They also stock their classic body butter and body wash within the range, and sadly at the moment it’s ‘special edition’ so I don’t know how long it will be around for, but I can confirm the Vanilla Pumpkin range lives up to the hype and is well worth trying out.
I had such a lovely evening and it was great to catch up with the girls as well as meet some new faces to the Bournemouth Bloggers.
I love events like this as from a blogger perspective it’s obviously great to find out more about a particular brand and network with other bloggers, but I’ve also made some firm friends within the Bournemouth Bloggers group over the past year, so it’s always lovely to catch up with them.
After we made our purchases we were very kindly treated to a goody bag each which has some gorgeous products. I wasn’t expecting so many samples, plus a full-size rose body scrub (officially obsessed with the scent of that range), some exfoliating gloves, a cute little make up bag, and samples of the various Oil ranges.
How lovely is that?!
I’ve been trialling the facial oils and serums out over the past week and am genuinely so impressed. I have a feeling I’ll be purchasing a few of these very soon.
Thanks very much to The Body Shop Bournemouth for inviting us along and for their amazing hospitality! And thanks to the Bournemouth Bloggers as always for such fab opportunities like this. I had so much fun and will be making a trip to The Body Shop in the not-too distant future…
